Dream Big Survey Results!
PTC Meeting Update
Thanks to those who joined us for a successful PTC Meeting last night! We reviewed the Dream Big Survey Results and voted on three areas to explore further. Our next step is to find parents that are interested in helping us look into these big ideas to improve our school! If you have expertise in any of these areas or are just interested in helping explore these ideas further, please email us at DreamBigCossitt@gmail.com.
The three categories we will be exploring are:
- Outdoor Blacktop Space: Explore options as big as turning it into a park with grass or field turf.
- Technology, A/V Equipment: Explore a new sound system for gym and LRC. Also, look into projectors or smart TVs for classrooms.
- Interior Common Space Refresh: Explore ideas to freshen up the hallways, bathrooms and common areas with new paint, fun murals, etc.
Please click here to see a copy of the Dream Big presentation from the PTC Meeting last night. Thank-you!
STEM Lab Chair Needed!
Now that the STEM Lab is up and running we’ve created a new PTC Chairperson position to ensure it’s continued success and growth.
STEM Lab Coordinator: Works with Cossitt staff to replenish supplies or facilitate new purchases for the STEM lab. Work to establish lunch clubs and after school programs and act as a liaison between these clubs and the PTC.
Also, if you have an interest in being the STEM Lab Coordinator or in hosting a lunch club or after school program in the space, we’d love to hear your ideas! Contact Dawn Collins for more information. Thanks!

Too Much Candy?
The Cossitt 6th Grade Girl Scout Troop is collecting unwanted/excess Halloween candy to give to the First Presbyterian Church of La Grange. The troop helps sort and bag the candy for local shelters to offer a special treat with meal programs.
Please drop off any unwanted candy at 418 S. Peck. There will be a cooler on the porch. Candy will be collected Friday, November 1 – Tuesday, November 12. Thank-You!
Notes to Cossitt Office
When sending to school with your student notes or forms to go to the Cossitt office, please label the envelope with what the enclosed is in reference to (ex: Book Club, Art Club, Yearbook, etc) so that it can be properly routed. This would be a great help to the office staff and much appreciated. Thank you.
Cossitt Property Watch
Please help us protect Cossitt’s property after hours. If you see inappropriate or suspicious activity after school hours, please call the La Grange Police at the non-emergency phone number of 708-579-2333. Thank you.
Did you know that Cossitt PTC is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization? This means many employers will match employee contributions to nonprofit organizations – like the PTC! So check you personnel manuals or talk to human resources today to see if your company offers a matching gift program. Please contact the PTC Treasurer for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
