ATTENTION 3rd, 4th and 5th GRADE GIRLS!
WHO WANTS TO RUN?

Cossitt Elementary is hosting another season of girls’ running club! The club will meet once a week to work towards running a 5k at the end of the season. While meeting, we will focus on both running and social skills. The girls will also work on building confidence, self-esteem and working together as a team.

This year, Girls’ Running Club will be held on Thursdays after school and coached by Mrs. Daly, Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. Galloway, Mrs. Howard, Mrs. Melberg, Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Stamer & Mrs. Wood.

What is the STEM Expo?  

STEM EXPO 2020 will showcase the talents of K – 6 students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and creative Making. This event is designed to show off those talents in the scientific areas. We look forward to many different kinds of projects and students to share what they have learned. STEM EXPO is an event, like an old-fashioned science fair, but non-competitive, you are all winners!

5th Grade March Madness

 

To continue the battle of the books positive energy from 4th grade into 5th, we are now introducing Cossitt 5th grade March Madness reading program!   The program will run from Wednesday, January 29- Friday, April 3rd, and the big tournament will be the week of April 6th! Students were given a flyer with more details and a book list including the 8 book choices last week.    A little friendly reading competition just like the NCAA basketball tournament, complete with bracket style eliminations!

Save the Date…Sunday, May 3, 2020, at 8 AM is District 102’s annual Race to the Finish 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk.

Early bird registration opens on February 1st. Like last year, the race will start and finish at Forest Road School.

Notes to Cossitt Office
When sending to school with your student notes or forms to go to the Cossitt office, please label the envelope with what the enclosed is in reference to (ex: Book Club, Art Club, Yearbook, etc) so that it can be properly routed. This would be a great help to the office staff and much appreciated. Thank you.
